Grimshaw the Collector of Coins
“Grimshaw likes to play games. Not the kind you win with skill — the kind that reveal who you really are.”
Add to DiscordWhat Is Grimshaw?
A Discord bot that hosts multiplayer game theory experiments. He is not a referee — he is the house.

Games of Trust
The Public Goods Game. Each round, players secretly choose how much to contribute to a shared pool. The pool is multiplied and split equally — regardless of who gave what.
Real Consequences
A persistent economy of coins. Pay to play. Go bust, and you must beg the very people who exploited you for help. The social pressure IS the game.

The House Always Wins
Grimshaw takes his cut. Entry fees, rake percentages — the house controls the stakes. Transparency, not trust. You see the odds. You sit down anyway.
How It Works
Game Modes
Three variations of the same question: can you trust the people at the table?

Core
The Pure Free-Rider Dilemma
Contribute to the pool or keep for yourself. The pool is multiplied and split equally. Contributing nothing is individually rational — but if everyone does it, everyone loses.
Punishment
Justice Has a Price
After contributions are revealed, spend 3 coins to deal 9 damage to a free-rider. But punishment costs YOU too. Is justice worth the price?
Threshold
Coordinate or Collapse
The pool only pays out if total contributions reach a threshold. Below it? All contributions are lost. You need everyone to give enough — but who gives first?
